Узел, который ставится в соответствие сгруппированным символьным данным. При определении такого соответствия с каждым символьным значением в XML-документе группируются непосредственно предшествующие и непосредственно следующие символьные данные. Каждый символ в секции CDATA интерпретируется как символьные данные. Узлы-тексты не имеют расширенных имен. Они имеют, однако, строковое значение. Строковым значением узла-текста являются содержащиеся в нем символьные данные. Символам в комментариях, инструкциях по обработке и значениях атрибутов не соответствует никаких узлов-текстов.
